Why not say ’no’ at least to foreign NGOs

I believe that all help should be welcomed. It is sad that the American

media focuses its stories on American-based charity organizations, but what do

they know of Amma or of the organic nature of Indian life as mentioned in the

article. What bothered me the most, though, was the other day I heard an

interview between a reporter and a representative of UNICEF. The UNICEF person

said they had raised enough money and were not accepting any more donations.

The

person was saying that this was basically enough to take care of the

immediate needs. Yet I have heard that it will take ten years or more to

rebuild the

devastated areas. At the same time, a group of artists in my town have

organized an art auction to raise money for UNICEF. I don't know whether to

tell

them about this news report or not. But I do know that people like Amma have

the long perspective in view and that is what She and others from other holy
