To the Group on an Experience of Amma's Love

Dear group,

 

I have been participating in an Amma group project called "Circle of Love

Inside." Amma devotees participating in this project write to people in prison.

There are so many people in prison who have heard of Amma, and though they

have never seen Her, hunger for word of Her and contact with people who have

seen Her. I received permission from Aikya, the coordinator of the group to

share part of one of the letters I received. I wrote to Michael, who is 23, in

prison for murder, twice and both of my letters got bounced back. Finally, the

third one got through. It was in my mail when I returned from Tucson, and I

was joyous to see it and to read what Michael had to say. I was so humbled by

his letter. Here is a man facing so much, and his heart if filled with Amma.

Here are a few snippets from Michael's letter:

 

"People who need food come to Amma, so Amma feeds them Her spirit, which is

pure divine love. She fills up the part of them that they have been depriving

of food for so long, which is the heart, because when a person is set on

satistying the ego, they deprive the spirit of food, which is needed for

advancement...once a person starts to come to this state of mind, the ego

starts to

die way, and then Amma love starts to fully set in...I look at myself as

being a leaf and as Amma as being the wind; wherever the wind blows me is where

I'll be."

 

He goes on to say how Amma's love is really spreading in the jail and how so

many of the other men come to him and want to know how he stays so peaceful,

and he tells them about Amma. Now I feel Michael is a model to me. I would

give a lot to have even a small degree of his being steadfast and at peace,

filled with Amma's love. And this is from a man who has never met her. Amma
