Guest guest
The semi-mythincal sage Babaji thought Om Namah Shivaya was the supreme mantra. Babaji's web site and written biography define the mantra as "Thy Will Be Done". Since this is arguably Ammachi's favorite mantra does anyone take issue with this definition? The conventional meaning conveys I bow down to Surrender to Take Refuge in God. Could this be tantamount to Thy Will Be Done? Guest guest
I always thought this mantra was specifically referring to reverence for Lord Shiva? Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya was Kripalu's "guru mantra", i.e. the mantra that Yogi Desai received from his guru Swami Kripalvananda, for whom Kripalu yoga is named. Guest guest
It literally means "Om. Salutations to Shiva.Shiva" is a very ancient name for God that appeared in the Vedas. It denotes that aspect of God which makes everythng a blessing. I thought that was kind of message maybe to use that mantra for a while , but still i somehow feel more attraction to such aspects as Sri Lalita or Saraswati , Laxmi and Sri Vishnu . namaste , jp
Guest guest
I could be wrong, but I think all of the vibhuti packets that Amma hands out at programs here in the US have "ONS" printed on them. Best way is to ask Amma when you can. =) Namah Shivaya, Iswari Ammachi, joanna pollner <joannapollner> wrote: > I thought it denotes more of the Shiva as destructive > aspect of Supreme , hence i kind off try to avoid > worshiping of Shiva , but funny enough i wanted to ask > Ammachi for mantra last year but could not for various > of reasons however She gave me a little vibhutti pack > with > Om Namah Sivaya .
