Guest guest
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Amma, This is your gentle reminder that today and tomorrow are the days to send in any new names for the prayer list. Please note: for anyone who has previously given me a name or names but did not specify a time-frame to leave the person on the list ~ these names will be removed. It helps me a lot if, when you send a name or names that you let me know how long you want the person to be on the list: 1 week, 2 weeks, 1 month, 3 months. I make careful notes about this (although, as you all know I have made a few bloopers and taken people off the list who should have remained on ... hopefully, I have not rectified these). If you are not sure whether a name you sent will be taken off the list, please re-send it to me. Please send to my personal email: _Nierika_ (Nierika) And thank you all for giving me the blessing of doing this wonderful seva of coordinating the prayer list and for all of you who are doing the seva of praying. Jai Ma ~ Linda
Guest guest
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Amma, Thank you all for sending in names for prayers. I have received many notes from people saying the prayers are helping. Blessings to all of you for participating in this seva. Again, I believe it would be a good idea to outwardly (verbally) or inwardly, whichever suits the individual person, state the intention that "I am saying this prayer for these people," and then to outwardly or inwardly say their names. The names for this week's Prayer Group are: Ammasiswari and Family Amritavarshini Benjamin Booker Jesse Clyde Burleson Patricia Carmen and Family Renee Charles and Family Christine Kathleen Colby Lois and David Dennis Scott Evans and his Father Barbara Ferguson Maritte Fuckes Rosemary Fuller Sherri Fuller Jerome Grossman Helen Haskin Burton James Hollen Mary Cay Hollen Scott Hulick Allen Johnsen Carolyn King Michelle Kulp Kalika Fern Key Anthony Likai Ellen Lamb Linda Rae Nora Massey Matthew Ferguson Masters Kelley Masters Jon Masters Christopher Masters Mehul Josie Meunier Vivian Minteer and husband Bob Michael C. Rajappan Margaret Renner Linda Elizabeth Ricchio Barbara Sayers Sharmila Sharon Shotwell Snehalata Theresa Torricellas Carter Tiess Badri Viswanathans Tony WalkinHawk Lee Welchie Vicki Woodyard For All Members of the Ammachi Digest For World Peace For American Troops in Foreign Lands For the Welfare of Bhu Devi, our Mother Earth For all those affected by the tsunami that struck Asia For the Dark Time in 2005 predicted by Amma Then people can proceed with their prayer, whatever they wish it to be. Some of the suggestions are: * to say the Aum Amriteswaryai Namah (a mala or as many or as few as is comfortable) * to say your own mantra given by Amma, or some other mantra you feel especially drawn to * to say the 108 Names of Amma * to pray in any other way that suits you * to say the Mahamrtumjaya Mantra (I suggest 21 times, but again, as many or as few as is comfortable. Mantra: tryambakam yajamahe sugandhim pushtivarddhanam urruvarukamiva bandhanan mrtyor mukshi ymamrtat It has been suggested that people could use these names and continue to pray each day or any one or more days during the week, however, the official PRAYER GROUP DAY will be SUNDAY. I would like to suggest, and again this is only a suggestion that people can do or not do, that we end with: Om Lokaah Samastaa Sukhinoh Bhavantu (May all Beings be Happy) and Shant Shanti Shanti

I was back in the hospital overnight (biopsy two: still no answer from the frozen section; perhaps full pathology will figure it out!) and the lady in the room with me made me seem like I should have been out running a marathon! She was in severe pain and the meds were only holding about 2 1/2 out of the required 6 hours; about 4:30 a.m., I finally asked Mother to please, by Her grace, soothe my room mate. Within about ten minutes, for the first time all day or night, my room mate actually snored softly and rested for almost an hour. It really does work -and for those of you that may wonder how/ why I'm in such a mess if prayer works, my answers would be: 1) It could be worse 2) I've been praying that Mother's will prevail and this must be exactly the way it is supposed to be right now 3) I have asked Mother for a long time now to help me surrender more fully, and believe me, layers are coming off like someone peeling an onion. I'll write more later about the surrender aspect but I just can't tonight. Your sister in Amma, Snehalata Dear Brothers and Sisters in Amma, Thank you all for sending in names for prayers. Guest guest
Hang in there Dixie We ARE Praying for you. For sure. This is from the Ammachi archives. ACCEPTANCE San Ramon, CA, November 24, 2003 On Monday, November 24, Amma's fall tour of the world started on the last leg of its journey with the first day of darshan at San Ramon. Morning darshan ushered numerous newcomers into Amma's welcoming arms. Mahatmas (Self-realized souls) are omniscient, omnipresent and omnipotent. They abide in a state of constant union with the universe. Even a blade of grass does not move without the Mahatma's being aware of it because the Mahatma is totally one with the Supreme Consciousness that pervades all creation. Thus it is that when the heart calls in earnest prayer, the Mahatma responds, the universe responds; God responds. In Amma's presence, we get to see this flow of energy over and over again, and almost every person has a story to narrate of response to sincere prayer and the flow of Amma's grace into their lives. It was midday and darshan was midway through, when a couple wheeled in their disabled son for darshan. At 18, an age when fledglings stretch out their wings and explore life on their own, Justin found himself bound to a life on a wheelchair as a result of a motor vehicle accident which left him with severe brain damage. As his family struggled to cope with the shattered pieces of the life they knew, prayer became an important part of their existence. As Justin's mother puts it, "Little did we know that that half a world away, a small yet omniscient woman heard our prayers and was already sending help." Justin had been in a coma for a few months with little hope of recovery when many surprisingly coincidental events led his family to seek refuge in Amma. Soon, Justin emerged out of the coma and other medical complications to be reunited with his family who have been bringing him to see Amma ever since. On this Monday morning, the family had come to pay their respects to Mother and seek her blessings. As Justin was being wheeled into Amma's presence, Amma noticed him from afar and kept stealing sweet glances at him, trying to catch his eye. When he came close, Amma stroked his arms. A new medication that Justin had been taking recently had produced dramatic improvements, and for the very first time, he could say a few words to Amma. "Om Namah Shivaya!" Justin announced brightly, much to Amma's delight! As Amma gathered him up in Her arms for darshan, he put his left arm around Amma, drawing Her close to him as well, and for a moment, mother and son hugged each other in a mutual embrace. "Pray, Pray…" Amma told him. Like a river that had overflowed and broken its banks, the long and loving darshan seemed to touch every onlooker, leaving them with tears in their eyes. Justin's slow recovery may not have been the complete cure that his parents had hoped for when they first came to Amma. But being with Amma has made them surrender and accept his condition as a learning tool in their spiritual progress. Says his mother acceptingly, "Our son has blessed us by shooting us through a canon of agony on to the spiritual path." It is through such living examples of surrender and acceptance that Amma shows us how to live every moment of our life as a spiritual practice, living in a simple acceptance of whatever it brings. --- been removed]

Guest guest
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Amma, Now is the time to start sending in your names for the Prayer List. The list will be posted in Friday's Digest for use for Sunday's Prayer Group. Now I have a question I'd like to ask. Another prayer group I belong to will post the actual reason for the prayer request if it has been given, along with the person's name. For example, my prayer request for my mom would read: Patricia Mackey for relief of pain and return of mobility. Sometimes when people send in the names, they say what the prayers are for; sometimes they don't. This is true of the other group also. Some are just the names. I would like to know if, for those who specify a reason for the prayer, the group would like that purpose included with the person's name. I look forward to your response. Guest guest
Dear brothers and sisters in Amma ~ I am so very sorry. Someone pointed out to me that the Prayer List was not there this past week. When I checked my sent email, I saw that the introduction was there, but the names were not. It seems that I must not have copied the whole list. Every name currently on the list will be left on for an extra week due to this mistake. And be sure that I will doublecheck this week to make sure the names are there. If there is a glitch, I will re-send them. Now, you can start sending in names for this week's Prayer List anytime, from today until Thursday. I will post the list in Friday's digest. And, again, I apologize for the list not being there this past week. Jai Ma ~ Linda

Guest guest
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Amma, I am still reeling from the blessing Amma gave to our prayer list. How wonderful. Thank you all for sending in names for prayers. Guest guest
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Amma, Once again, thank you all for sending in names for prayers. I have received many notes from people saying the prayers are helping. Blessings to all of you for participating in this seva. And many people are taking the prayer list with them when they see Amma. Two people have had the list blessed by Amma, and she rubbed both copies with sandlewood paste. There is a picture of one of these blessed by Amma lists in the Photo section of our group files (towards the end, maybe the last folder). So during this time of Amma's visit to the U.S., we are triply blessed in our prayer seva. Again, I believe it would be a good idea to outwardly (verbally) or inwardly, whichever suits the individual person, state the intention that "I am saying this prayer for these people," and then to outwardly or inwardly say their names. Guest guest
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Amma, Today is the to begin sending in any name(s) you want on the Prayer List. Please remember to specify how long you want them on the list, but not longer than through August 31, as I will start the list over at that time. Please send names to my personal email: _Nierika_ (Nierika) I will also place names on the prayer list for prayers requested in a digest posting. We are all so graced by Amma's multiple blessings to our prayer seva. In truth I am speechless. Jai Ma ~ Linda
