To Bela and Linda on honoring the body

Dear Bela and Linda,

Like Linda, I am very disabled, and have lost a tremendous lot of

"worldly" things

and independence, and suffered because of it. I don't know if I have

been angry with

my body per se, certainly the situation, and more at myself, because I

used to blame

myself for everything. Lately I have become more aware of how I started

with a very

healthy, functional body, and mean things out of my control happened to

it along the

way. I do think that my body is doing it's best to get well, and trying

to serve me. I certainly

take very good care of it.Many years ago Mother told me that it is

karma, and of course

one never knows how long a karma is going to last. I try to remember

that this life is

just a speck in eternity, and this suffering, and this life, is only

temporary.

To people with a healthy body, my advice is to appreciate it. When I was

healthy I used to

think that the saying "when you have your health you have everything"

was BS. Ha!

Turns out that it is so, so true. Sick or well, our body is a gift, a

friend, a teacher, and

should be honored as such.
