Guest guest
Namah Shivaya, atom feels sorry for some of the silly posts that came on the list last month. Here are Amma's own words about a similar topic(although from many years back). Q) We are told that there are many mahatmas endowed with divine powers now living in India. It is believed that nothing is impossible for them. When people suffer hardships and die because of floods, droughts and earthquakes, why don't the mahatmas save them? Mother: My children, in the world of a mahatma, there is no birth or death, happiness or sorrow. If people suffer, it is due to their prarabdha (fruits of their actions in this life and former lives). They are experiencing the fruits of their karma, which they have to exhaust. It is true that the amount of one's prarabdha can be reduced by the grace of a mahatma. But one has to be fit to receive that grace. The mahatmas exist, but people don't take advantage of their presence the way they should. An arrow can hit the target only if you draw the bow before you shoot. The mahatmas show us the proper way. Why blame the mahatmas if we do not heed their advice? Amme Sharnam, ota
