Guest guest
Namaste Yogaman and All, I have hit a new 'bump' in the road with my health. After two rounds of heart issues, I have been diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis, put on oxygen, and removed from work at least temporarily. It's my understanding that this is an autoimmune problem and one that is not easily fixed (read typically fatal). My question is this: does anyone know of aryuvedic remedies that might help since traditional medicine is definitely not going to? I really do need some input but don't know where to begin to look-and cannot afford to pay for a great deal due to already mounting medical bills. Thanks in advance for any thoughts you decide to share - guess I'll have more time to meditate, if nothing else! Guest guest
Namaste Snehaleta-ji, I very sorry to hear this; rest assured that there are many alternative therapies that will be of considerable help, esp. with regards to "autoimmune" diseases. As a start I will highly recommend that you get "Ayurvedic home remedies" by Vasant Lad. I will also send you a good e-book that is written by a prominent herbalist and will be a good introduction to alternative medicine. Can you spell out your email id? And could you also provide your date and time of birth(I can look astrologically as to how the current time is, but this needs to be very accurate as I am not familiar with birth-time rectification). Also it is a good idea to do intensive japa (at least for 6 hours a day); when the Divine Doctor(our Amma that is) is at hand, what more healing power to do you need!! With best wishes, -yogaman ps. Linda-ji, please add Snehalataji to the prayer list. Ammachi, "Dixie Thacker" <dixielou@s...> wrote: > Namaste Yogaman and All, > > I have hit a new 'bump' in the road with my health. Guest guest
I'm not a doctor, but I read a book called "Love and Survival" by Dr Dean Ornish a Cardiologist who wrote about ways to naturally reverse heart disease, I know he has other books that are more specific. I am currently getting accupuncture for a (very very different) health condition that nothing else was helping and it is helping me. I will pray for your health Snehalata, Ohm Lokaha Samasta Sukhino Bhavantu Dana In a message dated 1/12/2005 7:55:00 P.M. Guest guest
Ayurveda is a complete medical science. Since you have a tricky condition, getting a consultation with someone who is fully trained would more likely result in healing than trying a remedy with out the wisdom behind it. I'll send an email to the doctor who treated me and see if he knows anybody in your area of the country. He went to Washington State, got an ND degree (on top of his ayurvedic medicine degree from Poona) from Bastyr and practices in the Seattle area. He runs a certificate program and seems to keep in touch with knowledgeable people. Guest guest
Om Amriteswaryai Namaha, Hi Snehalata! Sorry you are having health problems. You might want to consult with Dr. Joel Fuhrman, M.D. He lives in NJ but is available for phone consultations if you are far away. To contact him see www.drfuhrman.com. Dr. Fuhrman incorporates Nutritional Healing, Fasting and medical care customized to the health problem. When one New Jersey person contacted Dr. Dean Ornish about a very serious heart problem, Dr. Ornish told him to go see Dr. Fuhrman. He did and his heart disease was reversed. Dr. Fuhrman says that Medically Supervised Fasting is one of the best healing approaches especially for heart disease. Joel's own experience of fasting for 46 days to heal a sports injury( not responding to medical care ) is what inspired him to study medicine, fasting and nutritional healing. In my opinion Joel has a brilliant mind which he uses with a compassionate heart to help thousands of his patients. He has had very good success in helping patients overcome and reverse heart disease as well as many other health problems. Joel's Nutritional Healing Diet is a Plant Based Diet not a Grain Based Diet as most vegetarian diets are. In my case after 33 years of various vegetarian diets, this diet seems to work best for me. Joel's Plant Based Diet is based on extensive world wide research on Nutrition and Health. This dietary approach is simple and economical compared to other approaches ~ it provides maximum nutrition without expensive supplements and keeps weight down without effort. Of course with Mother's blessings and guidance perhaps other healing approaches would work also. But, I do recommend Dr. Joel Fuhrman very highly. I had some experience with Macrobiotics, Ayurveda, etc but would go to Dr. Fuhrman especially with a serious heart problem. Guest guest
Om Shanti Shanti Shanti: Darling Daughter of our Beloved Amma: It saddens my heart to hear of your crisis. Will add you to my personal prayers. No bright ideas from this ignorant son. Doctor Dean Ornish is excellent. Any cardiologist Ornish recommends is worth pursuing. Aside from that may the Cosmic Physician heal your physical heart. In the 1988 biography of Ammachi the following incident is related. A girl named Shayma lived nearby the ashram and suffered from breathing troubles. One day, she had a severe attack and was rushed to the hospital, but it was too late. The doctors declared her dead. The grandmother, overcome with grief and weeping aloud, carried the child to the temple and laid the body on the seat upon which Mother gives darshan. Mother was deeply immersed in devotional song in a nearby house when she suddenly left for the temple. Mother sat on the floor, took the child in her lap and meditated for a long time. Slowly, the child opened her eyes and revived. Snehaji Please pray unceasingly and many of us will join in. Mothing absolutely nothing is impossible for the Beloved. Guest guest
Namaste, GeorgeSon and All, GeorgeSon, thank you so much for the beautiful post; and to all of you who've sent love and prayers - daily, you add such beams of brightness to my time that, regardless of the final outcome, I thank Mother for allowing me this opportunity to see the love that we truly can and do have for each other. Her arms seems to be around me one hundred fold. With love and great gratitude, Snehalata ---------- Version: 7.0.300 / Virus Database: 265.6.13 - Release 1/16/2005
