Guest guest
All this talk about omniscience, ect... aren't we told over and over that we should completely disregard such powers on the path? I think a great disservice is being done by those around Her: credit, praises, and adoration are lavishly given to Her and advertized when positive, uplifting, and even miraculous events happen, making that the focus of most of the written litterature, talks, ect... .. The other side of that coin inevitably surfaces when events are seen in their entirety. If credit is projected for the good, then blame will be projected for the bad. If people on one coast were saved because of Her grace, then people on other coasts were doomed because of their karma??? What does She know, doesn't know, can do, can't do???? Then doubt creeps in because the sand castle start to crumble...as sand castles do... To me, the real miracle is the Love that She generates, shares and awakens. Shouldn't that be enough? Miraculous enough? Why Should She even be put in a position of having to Know it all at all times? Or explain what She knows and does not know? Mother does not need miracles, UN awards, and acceptance speeches to touch peoples' hearts. But that Love, will move mountains in a very different way. It seems to me that surrender happens out of that love, and it is a mature surrender to the guru Principle, when every cell in the body is melting in that love and merging happens spontaneously, with nobody there to experience it. Mother goes back and forth relating to Herself as Sudamayi and the Divine Mother of the Universe, and we do the same. We analyze and conceptualize and interpret according to our ego's disposition all along bathing it in the "Devotional" light of the moment. Different people on their own rafts enjoying different sceneries, but all travelling along the same river. Hence the difficulty talking about our experiences with Mother, since we all have different reference points. However, one person's position does not take away at all from another person's seemingly opposite position. Different sceneries at different times, but everyone perfectly in their integrity, navigating according to their own trajectory but all supported and nurtured by Her Love. Isn't that miracle stunning? I like it when She says that we must look beyond the finger pointing to the moon in order to see the moon! But there was a time when I just wanted to look at Her finger, forget the moon...It seems that if allowed, the Love takes over our vision and erases our minds.. peeling us away, layer by layer.... and then all of a sudden, the finger the moon and the eye are inside, and nobody is there to project a thought about Mother even... I am so grateful to our Mother and deeply touched by Her Love, lalita -
Guest guest
Dear Lalita, What a beautiful and wise post. I would add that...there is power in "miracles" to inspire faith. However, that is a beginning, not an end...and I think it's natural for people to wrestle with these questions along the way, as faith is challenged and as it matures, and as we learn to see in new ways. Sometimes, castles have to be built and shattered before we're open to different ways of understanding. We can be told things a million times, but it's often not until we've personally learned from experience that we have such clarity.
