A few hundred people living outside of the ashram and most of them died. What further testimony regarding Amma's divinity is needed. Remember that the ashram has several high rise apartment buildings while those indigent fishermen live in ramshackle huts on the beach itself. Let's not read miracles where there are perfectly rational explanations. Those fishermen at sea were automatically lost. It's not like no one ever died at the ashram either. Guest guest
Dear Ajith: Have you read the book? Your name is Indian, so you would be in a position to read it in Malayalam. Aum Amriteswaryai Namah! All the material in the book are speculations, opinions and data all of which are presented without sufficient study. All the opinions collected were ONLY from those people who were opposed to Amma, and the growth of Her Ashram. Moreorless, the book is an archive of rumours, speculation and misinformation. Which court in the human world can explain phenomena that occur around Amma? My only suggestion to my friend is not to waste our time of these trivial issues... pls take ur list of rumours, speculations and misinformation somewhere else. Namah Sivaya! Why didn't she do it BEFORE the first waves hit Thailand? Amazing, uh... she throws in her sari and the water recedes! Anamika ::I think the sari shawl only works locally and she misplaced her international sari. Who can comprehend this mystery? A.

If I use a little bit of common-sense, it seems to me that most of the 10,000 people stay on the ground most of the time and under normal conditions, if there was flooding I am sure many people would have died (esp. small children). I am not demanding that you see this as a miracle; was just explaining how I saw it. Of course, there are rational explanations for everything, whether it is spontaneous healing, saving from sudden & certain death or even if Amma were to magically appear before you; isnt that what "rationalists" are for LOL. You also seem to express a lot of concern and sympathy for those indigent fisherman; certainly it is sad, but have you done anthing at all for them? I am guessing here that you did ABSOLUTELY nothing for them other than to mention them here. But Amma on the contrary immediately after the catastrophe, sheltered and fed all of them on the Ashram grounds, consoling them forsaking even sleep and have initiated reconstruction of new houses for them etc. That, my friend, is a true miracle; compare what Amma does for poor people in Kerala to all those "rationalists", whose only occupation it seems is name- calling.
