More Help for Amma's Relief Fund

The following idea occurred to me after praying for a way to be an instrument

for helping

the tsunami victims, & so far appears to be successful. After praying &

internally chanting, (feel this is very important), I approached businesses that

posted Amma's tour posters to request that they set out collection containers

for Amma's Disaster Relief Fund. Out of three, two have agreed, & the other one

donated collection containers & referred me to their central manager.

 

The first business expressed concern about some organizations' & governments'

overheads. Amma's organization's overhead is low since they pay only few

professionals and the rest is voluntary work donated by Amma' s devotees. One

business requested a decorated container & another a sheet providing information

about how the funds will be used. INformation can be presented in a sheet

protector. After checking, I was informed it's O.K. to copy the pictures from

the Amritapuri web site. We can make a folder and keep it for people to look at

this.

 

Someone (don't recall her name) at the MA Center said that Amma doesn't want us

to solicit donations for this effort, making people feel uncomfortable. But, I

understand that providing information & a way to contribute near a cash

register, with no pressure should be O.K. This person also suggested that

Amma's web site where more information is available & donations can be made

directly to the MA Center, be marked clearly on the container. I feel it's

important to make these receptacles very attractive.

 

This is one way we can be used, regardless of whether or not we have many funds

to conribute directly.
