Guest guest
Om Namah Shivaya Dear List Members, Just got this email from a devotee in Denver and am posting it here. In Amm's Love, sarama / Iceland __________________ -- email from Manjula in Denver: Denver, Colorado. 8.30 am Sunday 26 December Everyone at Amritapuri Ashram is safe, and all have been evacuated to the Amrita Engineering College located about a quarter mile inland. "Things as of tonight anyway are ok, and Mother's telling us not to worry," said ashramite Janani, who managed to get a call out from a mobile phone. Tidal waves kicked off by the largest earthquake in years have surged throughout Southeast Asia and have caused damage as far away as Africa. The Amritapuri ashram, located on the southwest coast of Kerala on a tiny strip of land separated from the mainland by a narrow strip of backwater, is flooded, as are the surrounding villages. Some villagers have died in the unexpected floods. The 8.9 degree earthquake struck just off the Indonesian coast at approximately 6AM on Sunday Indonesian time (7PM Eastern Standard/New York time and 9.30 am Indian time) and kicked off the Tsunamis and a series of smaller earthquakes.
