A powerful earthquake, which hit the island of Sumatra in Indonesia,

triggered tsunamis (Tsunami refers to huge sea waves caused by a

powerful earthquake) has hit south India.

According to reports reaching here in Bangalore, a part of AMRITAPURI

Ashram has been flooded by the tidal waves. A part of the Ashram is

reportedly under two feet of water.

There are no reports of any damage.

AMMA who is present at the Ashram has apparently instructed those

present to move to the eastern side of the Ashram.

Since an earthquake is normally followed by after shocks, further

tsunamis cannot be ruled out.

AMMA had predicted major natural calamities in 2005. Is this the

beginning?

During your prayers today, please pray for the wellbeing of the world

more emphatically - Lokah Samasta Sukhino Bhavanthu.

Ever in AMMA's service.

Om Namah Shivaya

Dear C R Vijayan,

thank you very much for this news of the situation in Amritapuri,

and your post .

Any more updates are appreciated.

This 8.9-magnitude great earthquake, is the second magnitude 8

earthquake to happen

( A great M8.1 earthquake occurred on 12/23/2004, just north of

MacQuarie Island, west of Auckland, New Zealand. )

within the last 5 days. Two great earthquakes like this

happening within just a few days of each other is very unusual.

"During your prayers today, please pray for the wellbeing of the

world more emphatically - Lokah Samasta Sukhino Bhavanthu ."

This daughter of Amma will do so.

Somebody posted yesterday that devotees in the ashram realized this was just

the beginning and was relatively minor compared with what's to come. Is this

perspective based on the one or two obscure references Amma has made to

calamities in 2005, or has she elaborated? I heard that a couple asked her

if she would marry them in Seattle next summer and that she responded that

she would, but that the world situation might prevent her from traveling.
