I was confused by this question so I said that and then was asked."To whom do you pray?" For me the answer was then clear. My ishta devata is Amma:>) This was confirmed as the correct choice; while Amma was whispering the mantra into my ear the Santa Fe satsang was singing,"Japa, japa, Amma, Amma" ("Chant Amma, chant Amma.) I'll never forget that blissful auspicious moment! Perhaps this method of decision is different for each person but I wanted to share my expreience.
