Maybe The point is , I make it interisting through my failures, when I'm acting without awareness or like the 'bad' child. This thought came this moment. Awareness is a big issue with me... Just thought of a dream, where a voice told me to be patient! I think I still need a lot of patience. Dear Rudiger ~ I am an artist and a singer/songwriter. When I was much, much, much younger, I bought into the notion that to be creative one had to suffer, and oh, I did, and my life was never boring. Then I began a quest to examine the things that caused my suffering, which I mentioned in a previous post, and came up smack dab against my "dark side." Still life was not boring. Then I found that I could have happiness and still create, and still life was not boring. Now I have several chronic iillnesses that affect my ability to do things on a daily basis, AND I still struggle with some of my old demons. But still life is not boring. Awareness makes you notice everything ~ every leaf, every flower, every cloud, every person, everything that crosses your path, and life can never be boring. ~ Jai ma ~ Linda
Guest guest
Hi Linda, what you say is very beautiful. I'm struggling with day to day awareness in normals situations, just yesterday I got up in a train and (not causing injury or other problems) with my hand hit on a ladys shopping back - just when I was putting my rucksack on my back. Things like this are happening often - ......... The other thing is being aware of my feelings, emotions, dark tendencies... I have a lot of training NOT to be aware (not feel my asthma so much, when I was a child) Maybe I simply don't see the interisting / important things in life. Boredom is really something for me - I easily manage to end up in jobs where I don't have enough to do . Now I'm since 8 weeks waiting for a project to start - I volunteered for this and live in another town (nuerenberg). The project now shall really start on jan 25th. (maybe) So I'm surfing the www... , learning russian.. Only sad thing is there's no functioning Amma satsang group here. We (my wife is with me) have to go home for this. Guest guest
Dear Rudi: I will make this short and brief; regarding being fully aware and to master all negative thoughts, emotions etc, Amma has already given us the vital tools. To overcome thoughts of negativity, depression, fear Amma has instructed us to "chant mantra incessantly"; this has to be tried out just once to see its efficacy (ok maybe not once but for a few days). When mantra is chanted without a break, one feels very energized and vitalized; there is no room for any negativity, just do it for one day and see how much benefits it brings (i.e. chant incessantly from the moment you wake up and continuing regardless of whatever you are doing, after a while it will be subconsciously done). When times are not favourable, in order to get benefits from japa, it has to be done 1000's of times(a measly 108 gives very minimal benefits and is just better than doing nothing). To take awareness to a more subtle level, Amma has asked us "to focus on the breath"; this is such a powerful technique and the degree to which it makes us aware of ourselves is amazing. Unfortunately Amma's instruction on breath awareness is very brief but it is all you need; various other authors have elaborated on the suble aspects of breath (eg- Larry Rosenberg, Bhante Gunataratna, Swami Rama etc). There is a pattern of breath for every emotion- the moment an emotion is recognized for what it is, just change the breathing pattern and the emotion is transmuted. Of course it is also important to pay proper attention to diet(get hold of any book on ayurveda), lifestyle to get the most benefits.
