You know, what's really funny is that the site created by devotees of the

Shankaracharya claims two contradictory things, without noticing the obviousness

of it. It declares that it tells the truth, the authentic truth and then a few

lines down on the same page it notes that it is "not an unbiased site" and

only presents information favorable to the Guru!! Gotta love that kind of

sanity. If you don't believe me, please check it for yourself.

Another interesting point, about Indian law, is that they don't use a

videotaped confession obtained in custody, whereas we do in the U.S., and

everywhere

else so far as I know. I am not an attorney, but why wouldn't a confession

obtained without torture (which would be clear in the case of using videotape, I

would think), be used as evidence? What clearer evidence could there be than

a confession? I don't follow this part of Indian law.

I do not know the innocence or guilt of the man. If they cannot use the

alleged confession, think it will be hard to prove his guilt in a

circumstantial

case. But, those who think the truth has some special power and will overcome

all....not. It will come down to lawyers, power and influence both for and

against: the actual truth matters not. It matters in God's eyes, but not as far

as the court is concerned.

In my defense, if Amma sees fit to talk about this, then it's OK, as long as

we stay respectful and considerate.
