dear siblings in Amma,

Last time I posted about this, I did not give enough information.

Now on Thanksgiving Day, leet me add more in hope that someone on the

list will be moved to help.

I am seeking a person or people from Pennsylvania--near Muncy. Muncy

is somewhat near State College, Hazelton, or a little farther from

Wilkes-Barre.

An Apache woman who is on Death Row in the Muncy Federal Prison has

asked for letters and especially visits. Her father and grandfather

recently died leaving her without family. She has not had a visitor

in years. She said she wants a friend. She does not want to die

alone. I am writing to her but I am too far away (California). to

visit her. If this moves your heart and you can help this women,

please contact me directly at aikya

Recently, a devotee from the Chicago area requested that letters be

sent to Michael, an inmate facing life in prison in Rockford IL, and

he asked that a photo of Amma be sent to Michael. Thinking that the

Crcle of Love letter writers might not be ready for this, I wrote to

the man. He wrote back the most beautiful letter. He recognizes Amma

as God. When he writes about God, he writes Amma in parentheses. He

wants only to serve the poor and suffering. He has been telling

other prisoners about Amma when they ask him why he is so peaceful.

He wrote that he no longer cares whether he goes home or not. "I am

like a leaf. Wherever God blows me, there I am," he wrote.

Meanwhile, I did not say much about Amma in my letter to him. I

mentioned only that Circle of Love letter writers were people

insspired by Amma. The rest came from him.

I received his letter last Monday and brought it with me to Devi

Bhava. His words have shown me that we can share Amma, her life

story and our experiences of being blessed by Amma with people in

prison the same way we share them with each other.

Michael heard about Amma from the friend who recommended him for

letters. Michael has read some books about Amma and is sharing them

with the men in prison who talk to him. With support from other

devotees outside the prison, a life changing satsang can grow in the

Rockford prison.

I tell this long story to encourage someone to reach out to the

Apache woman especially today on Thanksgiving.

In Amma's love,

Aikya
