Dear everyone,

I would like to bring an incident which happened here in our prayer

group in Abu Dhbai/UAE few years back....say 1999/2000. We were

thinking of doing something new among our group to have participation

from all the devotees and their family members.

The only activity at that time was to come for weekly prayer and

chant AMMA's Ashtotharanamavali, LSN Stotram, and 7-8 Bhajans, Arati

and Shanthi Mantra.

So we decided to utilize the extra Holidays during the year for some

special functions. The special functions were, 24 Hours Akhanda Nama

Japam of a particular mantra (Continous chanting of Mantra with out a

break for 24 Hours), LSN Stotram (Verses) Akhanda Nama Japa, LSN

Namavali Vilakku Pooja (Individual Chanting of the LSN).

So first Holiday was nearing and we planned for a 24 Hrs Akhanda Nama

Japa. But no idea which Mantra to take....Some said "Aum Namah

Shivaya" ....some "Aum Namo Bhagavathe Vasudevaya"...... some said

"Mahamruthyunjaya Mantra".....some said "Aum Amriteswaryai Namah" and

so many other proposals came in....as we were from different family

background and level of spirituality and the end result......... we

totally got confused which one to select for chanting. So we decided

to approach Ashram and check with Swamiji (Swami Amritaswarupananda

Puri) who is in charge of Middle east activities.

Can you guess what his reply was....????

Then onwards we always ways use the above Mantra for all the special

prayers....even some one is sick, some one getting married, for

someone a new baby is born, to get well soon, to help the children to

do well in their exams.................for everything.....

 

I would propose since we are all AMMA devotees and this list is meant

for AMMA why not take Aum Amriteswaryai Namah......the powerful Mantra

and get blessing from our Divine Universal Mother Sri Sri

Amritanandamayi Devi, the living God and progress in our spiritual

path.....
