Also, it's said to be good to keep a mala in a small silk bag whe not worn, to protect it's energy. Amma says the most effective place to wear a single rudrahka bead is in the throat cavity. Dear Sweta ~ I have tried to remember seeing Amma and where Her rudraksha beads were, but I can't remember. But I do have an Amma doll, and I know that all of the items the Amma doll wears have been worn by Amma. My doll came with her rudraksha necklace on the outside of her dress, and her bracelet and anklet rudrakshas are quite visible. In another context, Swami Satyananda Saraswati (who is with Shree Maa) wears his rudrakshas outside his garment. They are coming from a slightly different tradition, being more Tantric in practice, but I must say, all this confuses me greatly. For my own self, when I wear my mala, I always wear it on the inside of my shirt or blouse because I don't want to be trumpeting. But when I have been at the retreats or open programs, I have worn it outside, as I have seen many other devotees do, because in that context, it seemed appropriate. Maybe this is a question for Br. Dyamrita. What do you think? Shanti ~ Linda
Guest guest
Namah Shivaya Shanti, It sounds like a good question for br. Dayamrita to me, also. Sinc astrological gem stones are supposed to be of greater benefit by touching our skin, I assumed the same would hold true for rudrashka beads. But, I don't knwo for sure.
