Which should I do as this is my first darshan? Dear DB ~ in my experience, Amma devotees who go to the retreats participate in everything they can, including going to the public programs. As far as I know there is no rule about not doing this. There is a brochure that is available ~ they will have copies at the retreat ~ but I believe there may be information on this on Amma's website also ~ that give information on meeting Amma for the first time. In my experience, people usually ask for a mantra before they ask for a spiritual name, but you could contact the MA Center in San Ramon and ask them about this.
