Namah Shivaya,

I have very sad news to share about an Amma devotee named Vaishnavi Crowl. She

died recently. Please pray for the peace and happiness of her soul. She has a

sister, Ellen, another one whose name I don't know, and a terminally ill mother.

Vaishnavi shared a lot of herself on the Amma email list a few years ago

inspiring us with many Amma quotes and spiritual upliftment.

If you have anything to share about Vaishnavi, please share it here on the list

and so I can share it with others at a memorial service.

Thank you,

Fe Langdon

Dear Fe,

Thanks for this. I had actually been wondering about Vaishnavi, as I missed her

posts. I will pray for her.

May Vaishnavi's soul find eternal peace and happiness in Amma.

Thank you for sharing her story with the group - it helped people

like me, who didn't know her personally, find out what a great

person she was as a human being and as a devotee of our beloved Amma.

May her soul rest in peace. Our prayers go out to her soul and to

her family.

Thank you Uma. I believe these are Vaishnavi's last words to this list in

December of 2001(she may have posted at a later date as well):

"I want to thank all of you wonderful dear ones for the e-satsang you have

given me. I used to feel so isolated, and now I have made contact with so

many of Amma's devotees, that I feel like I'm part of a family. I don't know

if this is going to be permanent or of it's only going to be temporary. It's

all in Amma's hands."

Earlier that year she said:

"Ah Mother's beloved children, may we feel Mothers loving presence with us

in our every breath and every heartbeat. She is ever with us! It is only our

minds that keep us from this abiding truth.

Oh Divine Mother, please bless your daughters and sons with full awareness

of the unbroken, ever flowing love and grace that you bestow upon us all."

I think I met Vaishavi in 2000 after an outdoor meditation with Amma in San

Ramon. Her bed was outdoors near the pond. She needed help bringing her bed

back into the ashram so I volunteered. I found out that she lived only a

few blocks from my house. I thought I was the only Amma devotee in

Mountain View. Being around Amma, I notice I have synchronicities in my

life, I meet the people I need to meet. Vaishnavi's health made it

difficult for her to do things like laundry, going grocery shopping,

cleaning house so I met with her once a week to help her out. After the

housework, we made up our own "puja". Neither of us really know how to do

a real puja so we just made up our own ritual. Oftentimes, Vaishnavi would

make beautiful cards with people's names beautifully printed and decorated.

She put these cards on her altar, and we prayed for the people who were

going through a difficult time. I remember some people we prayed about from

this list. We put Amma's vibhuti on their names or on their photos. She

was a playful, devotional, deeply insightful person who liked to help people

with their problems. She was a therapist. When I was having a very

difficult time because my husband was quite ill with cancer, she gave me a

lot of prayers and moral support. She gave me some food for thought, shared

some insights with me, and many Amma quotes!

Here's one of Vaishnavi's blessings to this group:

"May the radiant beams of Mother's divine love flow through your hearts and

the hearts of all beings!"

Om Amriteshvaryai Namaha
