Om namaha shivaia

I'm sorry Linda, I'm not able to give you information in details, I don't

know much about it. At the programms there is usually a stall with Ashram

activities' information, charitable activities, IAM, etc.; there you can

clear all your questions (maybe you could find infos on the website).

In Europe everyone calls it "baptism", but I assume it has a sanscrit name

and it is of course different from the christian catholic baptism. As it is

helt at the end, I'm always far and cannot see perfectly what happens, but I

think it is when children get a special blessing, their first solid food and

maybe a name. Parents are always well dressed and bring nice fruits (and

money) as an offer.

I hope someone knows more and will explain better for you.

Om shanti

with love, Prasida

I believe the ceremony to which you refer is called "annaprashanam?"
