The way that my family was adopted, was that my son listed 6 gifts he wanted, that weren't outrageously expensive. I also listed his clothing sizes, color prefernces and anything in particular that he needed. The adopters also insisted on giving something to me, and asked for my clothing sizes. They also asked if I had any special needs, (tire, bed, or ?) So, if Robin wants us to proceed, she could list what her girls want for Christmas & for her daughter's birthday, prioritize the presents in case we can't buy everything, then those of us who want to participate could e-mail eachother about what we will buy & send to Robin by a preset date. If Robin wants groceries, she could tell us the store where she likes to shop & we could figure it out from there. Since I know from experience that being a recipient is wonderful, but can also feel embarrassing, if Robin chooses to do this, she could privately e-mail any one of us, (I would be glad to be a point of contact) or all of us, rather than the entire group. Incidentally, when I didn't have much $ but participated in a group adoption of a family, I was assigned one little girl. I solicited financial donations from my coworkers, and was then able to buy a good number of gifts for her. Perhaps we could ask our local satsangs for help, if needed. Another woman who didn't have much $, participated by soliciting donations from businesses. She donated a hair cut & beauty supplies from a salon to a mother. If Robin decides to do this, I would like to hear others' ideas about how to go about it.
