Guest guest
Hi Dear Listers. Here¹s a story from a Seattle devotee who was in Madison this summer studying Hindi before going to India to study for her junior year in college. Hello All, I just thought I would share a recent experience that happened to me over Amma's Birthday. I have to tell you a most touching story that happened to me the other day. Since I have been in India I have been very bad about keeping up with my sadhana. I haven't said the 108 names even once since being here. And though I keep giving myself the excuse that it's too hot, or I am still adjusting, or what not, I still feel a bit guilty for not keeping up with my sadhana especially when in India, and during this bad period when Amma is especially asking us to do more. So because of this I have been feeling really distant from Amma, and I was beginning to yearn for a community of devotees around here or some satsang that I could go to so that I could feel a bit more in touch. Low and behold, by some random chance on Saturday night my friend and I went to Kerala Cafe for dinner and whose picture is hanging up behind the cash register? Amma's! So I went up to the man and asked if he was a devotee...he was...and I told him that I was too and asked if there was a group of devotees that meets in this area. He told me that in fact "today is Amma's birthday and there is a celebration going on in the Math around the corner." So after dinner I went there and there was a beautiful alter decorated for Amma. I made it just in time for aarti and a man up front actually came to the back of the hall where I was standing and pulled me up front to do aarti as well. (Everyone was taking turns doing it but I was feeling too shy and so was not planning on going up, but obviously Amma had other plans.) Then I recieved prasad and talked to a few devotees who were extremely sweet to me. It seems as though there is a group that meets, however it meets irregularly so I am going to try and ask the man at the restaurant another time when and where the satsang meets. I rode home that evening in a rickshaw feeling so incredibly touched and blessed by Amma's grace. She truly never forgets us and reminded me once again how her hand is in every action that we make. India is beautiful and so unique and special and un-like anything I have ever experienced. I hope you all are doing well, and feeling blessed by Amma's ever flowing grace. love, Anagha ------ End of Forwarded Message
