Guest guest
Om Namah Shivaya, Mars is very closely conjunct three planets right now (Mercury, Sun and Jupiter), which may be contributing to the tone of the recent posts. Not that astrological forces are responsible for human actions, of course, but Amma does say that the planets have an effect on our consciousness....so it may explain the more "Martian" energy we've been feeling lately:) Love and peace, Sarah
Guest guest
Om Namah Shiva Thank you Sarah for this message and info. You are so very correct with your observation. The Sun, Mars, Jupiter and Mercury are all now very closely bunched together,( within 8°of each other), in the sign of Virgo; and thus Mars, Jupiter, and Mercury are combust. Things, including communications, can be tense, stressful and even explosive. We all need to be watchful and careful with how this energy affects us. Wishing calm, coolness and peaceful love to all list members (including myself), In Amma's Love, Sarama J.
Guest guest
Can anyone say how long this Martian energy ;-) will last? Guest guest
Namah Shivaya, I copied this from vedic astrolger David Hawthorne's weekly message published in a Fairfield, Iowa newspaper, and also posted on vedic web sites: "Mars transits Virgo from 04:01 to 08:32°. Mars is closely conjunct Sun until Sept. 30, Jupiter until Oct. 8, and is combust until Nov. 5. Its conjunction with a weak Jupiter may not help to curb fires, explosions, and military activities. There may be an earthquake. Take extra rest and protect your property and executive position. " Ammachi, "rosaroja24" <rosaroja24> wrote: Can anyone say how long this Martian energy ;-) will last? Guest guest
Maybe until Oct 18th or so. Other more knowledgeable list members may have a more accurate answer. prasadini rosaroja24 wrote: > Can anyone say how long this Martian energy ;-) will last? > > Thanks for this -- > Rosetta > > > Mars is very closely conjunct three planets right now (Mercury, Sun > > and Jupiter), which may be contributing to the tone of the recent > > posts. Guest guest
Dear Kenna In Vedic Astrology the degrees of the planets and signs gets pushed back by 23 b/c of something called an "ayanamsha" (you can google that word and pull up more information on it). So in Vedic astrology the planets mentioned below are in Virgo, and actually Amma's sun sign is in Virgo in vedic astrology, while her ascendent or lagna is in Libra. So all of these planets you mentioned are in virgo, i'll give the degrees below (as of today): mercury - 3* mars and jupiter are the same degree - 7* sun - 11* mercury stays combust while it is up to 14* distance from the sun mars has a bigger range, of 17* and jupiter is 11*. when planets are combust they are weak and unhappy, unable to fulfill their purpose, ie:mercury doesn't communicate it's needs, jupiter gets dogmatic in its belief system or insecure about it's spiritual knowlege (or lack of), and mars feels insecure about it's power and ends up in lots of power struggles and battles over will. As Ernst Wilhelm writes in his book "Vault of the Heavens" "When mars is combust the self is over identified with the function of strength, will and power. The native feels that they must be the strongest, most powerful or right in order to feel secure. Their overidentification with and attachment to power and their need to validate themselves through the use of it generally causes a lot of power struggles with others." Hope that helps. with amma's grace, kalika At 03:07 AM 9/26/04, you wrote: >Message: 13 > Sat, 25 Sep 2004 21:16:07 -0500 > Kenna <itskenna >Re: The influence of Mars > > > Namah Shivaya > > > >> > The Sun, Mars, Jupiter and Mercury are all now very closely bunched > >> > together,( within 8°of each other), in the sign of Virgo; and thus > >> > Mars, Jupiter, and Mercury are combust. > > > > Recently received this information: > > > > Sept 22 - Sun enters Libra (autumn begins) > > Sept 24 - Jupiter enters Libra (remains here for a year till Oct >2005) > Sept 26 - Mars enters Libra > Sept 28 - Mercury enters Libra > Sept 28 - Full Moon in Aries > > > Oct 13 - Solar eclipse Sun & Moon in Libra - (Completed with Oct 27th > Lunar > > eclipse) > > > > All based on western astrology, by which Amma was born in Libra. > > Does Vedic astrology have anything to say about this? > > > > In Amma¹s grace, > > p. > > Aum Amriteshvaryai Namah > >
Guest guest
Namaha Shivaya dear Kalika. Thanks so much! That does help to give a perspective to various struggles going on at all levels, starting within and moving out. In Her grace, p. Guest guest
In additions to the "ayanamsha", Vedic doesn't consider the sun the most important planet in the chart....as you said " All based on western astrology, by which Amma was born in Libra", vedic astrology puts much more emphasis on the ascendant and rising sign. After this, the moon is the most important, followed by the sun. So less emphasis is put on the placement of the sun. Guest guest
Well, finally, someone touched on one of the few specks that I know about Vedic astrology versus Western astrology. Vedic astrology looks at the stars/planets where they acutally are in the sky. Western astrology is still following a calendar adjustment from hundreds of years ago which has the planets 23 degrees "off." The aspects will still be the same. That is if Mercury is conjunct or trine Jupiter, it will be conjunct or trine in both systems. What sign each system says the two planets are iin will be different by 23 degrees. By Western astrology, my sun is 5 degrees Aquarius. Vedic astrology says it's Carpicorn 18 degrees. By Western astrology my moon is 25 degrees Aquariuus. The Vedic system puts it at 2 degrees Aquarius. Vedic always seems more correct. Western astrology has other benefits. So all the aspects are still aspecting.
