Guest guest
Just to clarify - to my knowledge, the $12,000 is what it costs (or at least did a couple years ago - they may be slightly more expensive now) to BUY a flat at Amritapuri. It's not a renunicate fee. The fees the renunciates pay, as far as I have heard, are quite low (I do not know exactly how much), and you don't have to buy a flat to be a renunicate, even as a westerner. It's just that most westerners feel more comfortable that way than living in the very spare (they reminded me of cell blocks a bit!) quarters they have for the renunicates. I encourage everyone to make sure they have facts clear before they share them with the group - it can be very misleading! A brief comment on the people that surround Amma sometimes that push our buttons. I have had that reaction many times before, too. The truth is, Amma loves and accepts us all, even the annoying ones, the imperfect ones (ie, all of us!), the ugly ones, the beautiful ones. It is for us to learn to accept, not to judge - at least, that's what I have had to face in myself. Why am I spending the time judging, criticizing, and getting annoyed and offended with people who aren't doing what I want them to, when I could be focusing on improving myself? Well, it's much harder for me to work on myself, that's for sure! I've had many humbling moments when I've had these realizations. It's not been easy for me to accept everything that goes on around Amma. She seems to accept it with a grace and unconditional love that I have a looooong way to go to reach. That's just my experience and my 2 cents. Blessings, Achintya
