Guest guest
How are people celebrating Amma's 51st birthday? At the MA Center we are having an all day celebration. This makes me think of people who are very far away from a center or a satsang, maybe even far away from other devotees. But they could have a celebration too. At the MA Center celebration generous amounts of time will be taken to pray for world peace throughout the day. Anyone could do that, wherever they are. Some of the time will be spent talking about blessings received from Amma. Anybody could choose on that day to tell about a blessing from Amma to another person or to as many people as will listen. How do you celebrate the worth of someone special and use all the senses? Compose songs or poems. Create something beautiful to look at. Use fragrant flowers or incense. Cook a special delicious vegetarian meal or treat and make sure you offer each of these things to Amma first.Dance in celebration. Start soemthing good. The Toronto group will be celebrating on Sunday morning (26th) with the Lalita sahasranama, 108 names of Amma, bhajans, prasad - an extended version of the regular weekly satsang. I would guess that at Amritapuri the birthday celebrations are going to be rather low-key compared to this time last year.
