Guest guest
Aloha and Om Amma Connie, The renunciate fee is 12,ooo and it includes room and board for a lifetime while intimately learning how to truly live and how to truly love through very personal instruction by the Goddess of Love herself-Ammachi, our Mother of Compassion. Keval, Forgive me but Why are you moderating for this group? How anyone can be the moderator of this Ammachi group and insult Mother's intentions feels very off to me. Are you an Amma devotee or just interested in a bunch of gurus so you can take what you like and downplay the rest? Please do not doubt Mother and think you know better than her, Keval. I say this to myself as well...Please trust Mother. Lets trust Mother or why believe in Her at all? Since Amma asked me to pay my debts back and make the renunciate fee, Im making more money than i ever dreamed of. Is this gouging me for all Im worth? I find your words against Mother unbearable even though I used to feel the same way back in the early day before I realized how most Westerners were using way more than a fair share of resources. Like one brother wrote earlier, if there were not this fee, many people would want to join as renunciates and this fee is a way of showing commitment. Also, in the West, we are very heavily attached to and identified with money and therefore Amma says money=our mind. so Mother says, when we give a considerable amount of money, we are giving God a considerable amount of our mind, our attachments., The thing to realize is this...If we really believe that Amma is really God and God is asking for us to give something back after all we have taken and used selfishly, how can you not jump at the chance? Especially when you know you can simply pray to God and She will help you find a way to give Her back that money. It is money to balance out the excess in the west and the poverty in the east. It is a small amount of money considering what you get for it. If you want to volunteer with Green Peace, you pay them 2,000 for six weeks. If you want to be a traditional Reiki Master, you pay 10,000 for the initiation. Amma gives us initiation for free. The renunciate fee is for Amma to take you on as an intimate student/sevite/potential problem child in Her sanctuary of Service to our starving/dying brothers and sisters. If Kalipadma, you really want to be a renunciate, ask Mother...! She will either say Yes and provide a way for you to get the money as she is doing with me or she will say no because it is not the best dharma for you. The flat fee is different and is now 14,000 and this is to reserve a a karma-free place to call home with the MOther of the Universe as your gracious host and ever-ready teacher, mother and friend, on one of the most spiritually charged places on our tiny little planet where they havent figure out yet how to make more land... Wishing you all well....as we all work on having faith as big as a mustard seed... Guest guest
> Keval, Forgive me but Why are you moderating for > this group? Because Kandar asked me to, while he was away on vacation, and being an officer and a gentleman (OK, a gentleman; no army would offer me a lieutenant's commission , I accepted. Kandar is back in Florida but presumably has quite a bit on his plate right now thanks to unwelcome visits from Charley, Frances and Ivan. And the 'cane season ain't done yet! > Are you an Amma > devotee or just > interested in a bunch of gurus so you can take what > you like and > downplay the rest? If you've ever seen my web site, it's a bit of both! Please do not doubt Mother and > think you know > better than her, Keval. Not to second-guess Amma, but I've gotten a healthy dose of cynicism, particularly after reading Sarah Macdonald's book _Holy Cow_** I've never been to Amritapuri, but I've seen seen enough fawning, sycophantic western devotees on the North American tours to corroborate Ms. Macdonald's observations: "The Indian devotees are enjoying the ashram like it's a holiday camp with a divine counselor...the Westerners, in contrast, seem pious and precious...Can you feel pity for the divine? I'm overcome with sorrow for the holy Mother surrounded by such grasping, pulling, demanding, desperate people". ** available from amazon, or from the publisher Broadway Books http://www.randomhouse.com/broadway/catalog/display.pperl?isbn=0-7679-1574-7 So the 12,000 bucks is for an apartment at the ashram, not to become initiated as a renunciate? Sorry I didn't check all my facts. Keval _______________________________ Declare Yourself - Register online to vote today! http://vote.
