Guest guest
Namah Shivaya dear Siblings. Amma is telling us to pray instead of worrying! This child comes from a long line of worriers and is adept at seeing the empty half of the cup. By Amma¹s grace, several desperate personal situations at Her birthday last year really showed me that She does keep an eye on each of us and that if we sincerely pray to Her and trust Her, She will take care of us. Whenever Amma has talked about the ³disaster², Her main point is to ask us to do what we can because we can make make a difference. We are not victims! You know what they say: an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Problem with prevention is you can never prove what would have happened if you hadn¹t acted to prevent. That¹s where the faith comes in, isn¹t it? How do we know what would have happened without the prayers as the force levels of Hurricane Frances kept dropping. How do we know what would have happened without the prayers as Hurricane Ivan veered away from Jamaica and Cuba and New Orleans? Amma told us our prayers could be the wind that helps dispel the dark clouds over the sun. Perhaps She was speaking for more literally than we ever imagined. Perhaps these storms have been Her way of helping us develop our prayer muscles for bigger storms of human making. Never have we seen such a deluge of urgent messages from Amma¹s Swami¹s regarding Her direction to pray at noon on Tuesday, 9/21. I believe that She knows why this is so important at this time. This little prayer isn¹t much, but with all of yours and all that we can persuade to join us, it cannot hurt. I remember how thrilling it was when SkyLab was falling and suddenly the world did join in a sincere prayer for no harm to anyone. Who can say where it would have fallen without that prayer? All I know is it fell in the ocean. May we all put our best effort into the prayer. May Amma protect us.
