Guest guest
<<What kind of prediction did Yogananda make? He's been dead since 1952, no?>> Dear Keval, SRF, the organization Yogananda founded, did not talk much about his predictions. Most of what I "know" came from a small book, (published in 1973) "The Road Ahead" by "Swami Kriyananda," NOT ALWAYS a reliable source in my humble opinion. (I say this because when SK was tried --and convicted-- of sexual harrassment, he had the nerve to tell the court that using the title "swami" wasn't intended to make people think he was celibate. Ugh.) Well, anyway, in this book he says that Yogananda always said there was a much worse depression coming than the one in the thirties and always encouraged people to live close to the land. At least in this book he only quotes Master (Yogananda) as saying, "You don't know what a terrible cataclysm is coming!" not saying what the cataclysm would be. Here is a quote from the book: "He did, however say something, which, to me hints at the possibility of global cataclysm in the years ahead. It may have been in answer to someone's remark on the cold winters in Boston. At any rate, the master's comment, as it has been reported to me, was, "In the next century Boston will have a tropical climate, and the people there will be brown-skinned." Apparently Yogananda was not a fan of Keynesian economics and felt great economic woes would result from the continued use of the fiat dollar. So that may or may not sum up what the great master said. Pranams at Amma's lotus feet, Jyotsna
