Guest guest
Om Namah Shivayah! I'm usually not much of a TV watcher, but I recently saw two things that are worth mentioning: 1) There is a documentary about Sadhus on the National Geographic Channel that I think they will play several times this week. It's title is something along the lines of "Wonder of the Ganges" or something and there is some really fantasitc footage of the Khumba Mela (I'm almost positive I'm spelling it wrong...). Has anyone here ever been to the Khumba Mela? It was quite a sight! I wasn't too impressed with the spin the director was putting on the festival, or it's honored guests, but it was really beautiful to see the thousands of sadhus going out into the Holy Ganges... 2) Another documentary, on HBO, called "Death in Gaza," that really touched me. It's about the Israel/Palestine conflict, and it's basically interviews of Palestinian children who aspire to be martyrs. I know not everyone has HBO, or even cable (I saw this at a friend's house myself) but if you can arrange to see it, it really opened my mind and my heart, and sent me straight to my altar. I forget, living my nice little American Dream life, that this world is still so full of pain and hate, and I forget too, how IMPORTANT it is to pray and pray and PRAY for peace.
