Guest guest
President Bush Confuses "Hindi" and "Hindu" http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2004/08/20040813-7.html KAUAI, HAWAII, August 18, 2004: HPI reader Ranjit Arab point out that the article published in HPI August 16, "President Bush Incudes Hinduism In Comment on America's Religious Pluralism," summarized from the Los Angeles Times, incorrectly reports the exact words of the president. Instead of saying at the Beaverton, Oregon, meeting, "...you are equally American if you're a Christian, Jew, Muslim or Hindu" (as reported by the Times), he actually said "you're equally American if you're Christian, Jew, Muslim, or Hindi." The transcript of his remarks at Beaverton with the error is available on the White House web site at "source" above. The preceding Gee Dubya presidential DUHHHHH!!! is from the Hindu Press International listserv! Keval
