I try during Devi Bhava, usually, to get in a little nap in my car... although mentally and spiritually energized, I feel physically tired (I have a hard time walking around barefeet! I really feel it in my feet, legs and lower back after a few hours) and so try to give myself a little rest. During that short nap, I'm never sure if I really slept or not... it's that kind of semi-sleep that happens when Amma is nearby... This year, as I told you in my Devi Bhava story a couple of weeks ago, I brought a newcomer to Amma who has an apartment in RI that was literally 10 minutes away from the program, so we stole away halfway through the Devi Bhava to take a nap for a couple of hours... we agreed on a wakeup time to get up and go back to the hall. When that time came, I awoke before the alarm went off with a start, as if I had OVERslept and was going to be late, like, "Oh my God! We have to go back to Amma!" My friend said that he wasn't sure if he slept at all (he had received his first darshan that night!), that he kept repeating in his mind "Amma, Amma, Amma" and drifted into that semi-sleep state. Driving back from Devi Bhava, I'm usually blissed out and really happy, energized mentally and spiritually but still tired physically, and when I get home I have got to get to bed and sleep for a couple of hours. Normally, I do well with 6 hours a night... 5 is OK, with a little extra coffee in the afternoon!
