Guest guest
Dear Nirmala, Ota's reminisence caused me to recall something along the same lines that Amma said to me. In 2002 (?) in New York City, I had my beloved Amma doll "in for repairs" and "it" was at the cash register waiting to be picked up. I was so busy doing seva that I forgot about it until Devi Bhava was almost over. Then it couldn't be found. Sudhamayi told me she'd find it for me the next day in Rhode Island. The next day in Rhode Island it was determined that some unscrupulous person had told the attendant at the cash register that the doll was hers, paid the $10 owed, and departed! I was devastated, sobbing like the little girl I really am! Sudhamayi wasted no time in taking me up to Amma and telling her that someone stole my Amma doll. First Amma said, "Why be sad? This is parabda karma." Then She said the sweetest thing of all, "No one stole the Amma doll in your heart!" Jai Ma, Jyotsna P.S. Earlier on the tour I had asked Amma for a special request for one of my daughters. Inwardly, I feel the loss of the doll had to do with this request.
