Guest guest
>From Awaken Children, Volume V, pp. 169-170: Mother says, "We should try to see the nature of things as they are. The nature of anything, whether an object or a being, cannot be other than the way it is. If this is understood, one can only respond. One can only pray for the good of others; one can only have sympathy and love. Frogs croak and crickets chirp at night. That's their nature; they cannot do otherwise. Their natures are not going to change even if you get angry at them. Nobody stays awake at night saying, "i'm not getting proper sleep because of this noise." People simply ignore them and go to bed because they know that frogs croak and crickets chirp. They know it is in the nature of those creatures and they cannot be otherwise. Likewise, each person has his own nature. Through your anger you cannot change the nature of other people. Only love can change them. Understad this, and try to have sympathy and love for all. Try to be compassionate, even toward those who bother you. Try to pray for them. Such an attitude will help your mind also to remain peaceful and calm. This is genuine response."
