Guest guest
Namaste, Can somone please tell me the translation for Aum Amritaswaryai Namah? I remember hearing this all over at the program in Iowa and Chicago. Is this a mantra of Amma's name? I know Mata Amritanandamayi (Mother of immortal Bliss) is one of her mantras. Does she have anymore? At Amma's Feet, Robin Vote for the stars of 's next ad campaign!
Guest guest
Aum Amriteshwaryai Namah - Salutations to the Immortal Goddess! Mata Amritanandamayi is Amma's official name and is not a formal mantra, but on a personal level, you can regard it as a mantra too if you are ok with it. Guest guest
Greetings, Robin. AFAIK, the mantras are to be regarded as private between the Guru and the disciple and it is only a "qualified" Guru who can give the mantra to the disciple. - Girish On Tue, 20 Jul 2004 15:14:43 -0700 (PDT), Robin Wilson <lilymoonjewel wrote: > Namaste > > Does anyone know the formal mantras of Amma's? Guest guest
Namaste Girish, Someone had informed me that there were only two mantras for Amma and I was confused by this. That is why I ask. Guest guest
Blessed Robin, There are basically two mantras for Amma if one chooses Amma as their deity when they request a mantra. Perhaps that is where your confusion arises. There are many more mantras, I imagine, tho most of us fall into what one might call "certain broad categories." Guest guest
namah shivaya robin --- aum amriteshwaryai namah is the 'formal' amma mantra and means: salutations to the immortal goddess; salutations to amma! when amma gives out mantras at devi bhava and you'd ask for a PERSONAL amma mantra, it'll be a different amma mantra. but you could even always chant AMMA AMMA AMMA. this is also a POWERFUL amma mantra! but don't get caught up in numbers; since amma is all pervading there are many amma mantras anyway. the most popular examples: om namah shivaya, om parashaktiyai namah .. . . it always depends on how you look at things and what you feel most comfortable with chanting. i'm happy for you - as many others on the list - you found your way into amma's arms physically! in amma christiane Ammachi, Robin Wilson <lilymoonjewel> wrote: > Namaste Girish, > > Someone had informed me that there were only two mantras for Amma and I was confused by this.
