monastics and renunciates

Dear all,

 

Goodness, I'm garrulous today! Anyway, I would like to know if any of you

would be interested in starting a Hindu-based but interdenominational Group

for monastics and renunciates. I've decided after a number of years that this

is my path, and I hope to garner Amma's blessing for it this week when I see Her

in Rhode Island. Maybe, if the response from this list is enthusiastic enough,

I can also ask for Her blessing FOR the new e-list! Wouldn't that be wonderful!

 

I don't wish to disinvite those who already live on ashrams or in other types of

close-knit spiritual communities, but I would like the focus of the list to be,

more or less, "urban monasticism." (Heck, there are books about urban shamanism

-- so why not urban monasticism?!) My vision is that we could support one

another as we strive to break the karmic wheel and live simply, peacefully and

in harmony with our families, loved ones (*not* marital or romantic partners but

friends), coworkers, pets and the environment.
