Guest guest
OM AMRITESWARYAI NAMAH AMMA SAYS - STORY Innocent Prayers - Tambrante Simham Va Va... The flames of this supposedly ignorant forest dweller's meditation were so powerful that Vishnu had to respond. Assuming the form of Narasimha, the man-lion, he appeared before the simple forest dweller." Contd ...... "The forest dweller pulled out a creeper, tied it around the Lord's neck and led Him back to the tambra who was still sitting on a rock with his eyes closed, trying to see the form of his beloved deity. The forest dweller called out, "O Tambra, open your eyes. Here is your man-lion. I brought him here for you.' The devotee woke up after repeated calls, and he could not believe his eyes. He rubbed his eyes again and again, looked and looked again. Still he could not believe his eyes. His Lord, the magnificent incarnation of Lord Vishnu, was standing right there before him. With one hand the forest dweller was holding a creeper tied around the Lord's neck, and with the other hand he was feeding Him green grass." "Seeing how amazed the tambra was, the forest dweller said, 'Tambra, come down. Take your lion. He is all right. He is not dangerous, Come on down.' The devotee scrambled off the rock like an insane man and fell down in front of both the Lord and the forest dweller, crying loudly like a child seeking forgiveness. The forest dweller was puzzled by this. Now the Lord spoke, 'Get up, my dear one. Do not feel disappointed. Remember that dear to Me are those who lovingly remember Me, constantly feeling My presence both within and without. The ego cannot exist where there is real love. Where there is real love, there I can easily enter and dwell.' Having said this, the Lord placed His hand on the forest dweller's head, giving him moksha, final emancipation. The Lord consoled the devotee, saying that he too would reach the ultimate state during this lifetime. The devotee became genuinely humbled." "The forest dweller had not studied any scriptures, but he had a loving heart. His search was not even for himself but for someone else. This kind of person, endowed with such a loving and compassionate heart, is dearer to the Lord than one who meditates sitting in the lotus posture, proudly contemplating his scriptural knowledge and techniques of meditation and japa." "Children, taking this story as as inspiration, try to pray until your heart melts and flows out as tears. It is said that the water of the Ganges purifies whoever takes a dip in it. The tears that fill the eyes when one is remembering God have tremendous power to purify one's mind. Such tears are more powerful than meditation. Such tears are verily the Ganges." :: AMMA SHARANAM
