I found this absolutely amazing language (see list above of abbreviations) that seem to be somewhat universal for email etiquette. So....it answered many of my personal questions...like the use of LOL, which I had assumed meant lots of laughs....only to find that it meant laughing out loud. I was too embarrassed to ask all of my brothers and sisters what some of their abbreviations meant. Amma has created a perfect position for me at the University assisting Marketing and Art Directors. I was being offered full time , but due to health limitations, I could only accept part time....and they (Amma really) created a special projects position that will allow me much creativity and I will not get bored. This is a stellar and professional office that I am proud to be affiliated with. My first assignment was to research online chat s for Higher Ed environments.....so....I chuckled (knowing Amma was getting her two sense in by letting me know I had some knowledge of what I was being assigned yesterday)...as the director has never been involved in an online chat room and Amma had me in training, thanks to all of you. So my question to all my super geeky and computer geniuses out there in Amma's Ciber world.......do you know of any companies who sell packages to institutions of higher education, for the purpose of online chat, blogs, etc. for use with student email communications. I am looking for a high quality vendor, with experience, who might have resources and demos for our management team to experience. Also, included in a package offer would be the ability to create links to major web sites, especially for the purpose of using after professional presentations, academic lectures, visiting scholar , etc. I am working with our reference librarians, academic educators and university computer services....and of course, googling..... Thanks so very much for your time. Possibly Amma has one of her children who owns this type of business ....and then I would be proud to place them on my high recommendation list for the directors. Guest guest
Dear Amritavarshini, Blogger (now owned by Google and can be found at Blogger.com) sells blog packages for business/corporate use. I also know that Messenger offers a business option, however I haven't used it myself so I can't attest to its greatness or lack thereof. Are you looking for an online classroom-type of all-encompassing application/package? Proud of her geekiness, Erica

Guest guest
Dear Niseema (Erica), Your High Geekness, ***Thanks for your fast reply. Blogger (now owned by Google and can be found at Blogger.com) sells blog packages for business/corporate use. ***Great news, I had not discovered if Blog was a company, a product....a reference librarian suggested that I do searches with the term blog...(something like a diary, I was told). I also know that Messenger offers a business option, however I haven't used it myself so I can't attest to its greatness or lack thereof. ***Yes, thank you...was working on this morning...very broad. Are you looking for an online classroom-type of all-encompassing application/package? ***Not sure ....I am not a techy...just the inquisitor..so I am running into vocabulary issues..... online classroom....? The university is currently using an online chat for the Admissions Dept..and the Marketing Director for the entire university is wanting to expand the use to all student and faculty discussion and online communications. Therefore we would open up a new topic after huge international lectures on campus, like when Gloria Steinhem was here and she spoke for 2 hours...and we all were buzzing to talk more about her speech...and it would have been great to have a chat to go to with everyones opinions....there was much interaction and her speech...and it got many individuals involved and thinking and processing. We are also planning to use this email for individuals who have interest in learning about certain topics, films shown on campus. I guess, "all encompassing package"...yes, and it must meet the criteria of being linked to the main gateway website...which supplies all 8 campuses across the state.
