Guest guest
MEDITATE WHILE YOU WORK : A NEW PATH FOR A NEW AGE (41) Swami Ashokananda Sri Krishna said: 'samam psayan hi sarvatra samvasthitam isvaram na hinastyatmanatmanam tato yati param gatim' (Bhagavad Gita 13.28) 'When one perceives the same God equally existing in every being then he does not hate himself by himself and he attains to the highest condition.' And again he said: suni caiva svapake ca panditah samadarsinah (Bhagavad Gita 5.18) - 'The wise are same- sighted; whether in a pandit, an untouchable, a dog, a cow, or any other thing they see the same Being everywhere.' When you begin to think this way, you find your life has become meditative. Behind your thoughts and your actions, even your furious activity, there is a sense of calmness, a sense of serenity and depth, in which you truly exist. Just as the profound depths of a lake may remain absolutely calm when its surface is rippled, in the same way you will begin to discover in yourself a deep calm and serene Being, though on the surface there may be incessant activity. And then that activity becomes colored by the consciousness of your own deep being, which you cannot distinguish from Divinity itself. When you have become even slightly conscious of this fact, you have become transformed. Then, whether you are sitting calmly or are furiously active, your mind is in the deeps. I think that is most wonderful. Here is my God. If you say, 'This God doesn't seem very exciting, all this activity and these crowds of people', ah, on the surface it is not exciting, but go a little deeper, and you will find it is God Himself, nothing but God Himself.
