Guest guest
Is there anyone who is going to see Amma in New York City who would be willing to bring an elderly friend of mine to have Amma's darshan for the first time? She is a Gujerati woman who is in her 80's and, as should be expected, a bit frail. She lives in the Upper East Side of Manhattan. Her Vaishnava family is from Seurat. She came to the U.S. about 45 years ago although she goes back home every two years or so. She is a well-educated artist and makes beautiful batiks, among other things. I have known her for almost 30 years. When she last visited me in California, I gave her Swami Amritasvarupananda's biography of Amma to read on the plane on the way home to New York. She really appreciated it and asked if I had every met Amma. If I were in New York, I would try to bring her to Amma for a hug and blessing. She will need extra TLC and will reward you with her modest and wonderful self. I have not told her that I am cooking up this plot.I think she would never expect to be able to meet Amma because the crowds would be too much for her on her own, but we know how to deal with that for people with special needs. If there is anyone who is willing to be her guardian angel--her St. Michael the Archangel-- so that she can meet Amma, it would be wonderful. I'll call her then and let her know and we can exchange contact information. Please reply privately to me at aikya Aikya
Guest guest
Namah Shivaya Aikya, If I go to NY (if I can find someone to share a room), I would feel honored to assist your friend. Be assured that as soon as I know if I am going I will contact you.
