Guest guest Posted June 30, 2004 Report Share Posted June 30, 2004 Namaste, Here is a story that Amma said at San Ramon; note that I am not proposing this as a justification for suffering- There was a young man who was very happy one day and he began running and jumping (Swami ran into some translation problems with this, and everyone had a good laugh). Suddenly a thorn pierced his feet and he lost some blood. After his injury he decided to walk more carefully along the road. Soon after he saw a poisonous snake that was hidden along the road; because he had been carefully looking out for thorns, he saw the snake before he could step on it. After these two stones, which damaged my car, I am really watching the street more carefully, and before this accident I really thought: Me not....But now I know it can happen any time. The other thing are the money losses. Often I am quite careless with expenses, more than Amma would like. ( She does not like it at all!). But spending 700 Euros for nothing (the repair and the flight)is hurting really a lot. This pain raises the awareness for the other expenses, I think it fits also with the story with the thorn and the snake. There were quite a few people from Germany at San Ramon, I guess Amma is becoming really popular.
