Guest guest
Dear List, Not too much to report. Good programs today in Seattle. The hall is a former department store and quite spacious. I personally liked it. The stage had a red and orange backdrop with tiny lights behind the draped saris. Mother was honored by the (woman) leader of the Tribal Council (?) of Washington, and the Mayor of Burien. Rhadika gave a short satsang, then Amma gave a talk on the necessity of love in life. Swamiji was translating. He said Amma says men are primarily intellectual and women are more emotional, so "men have to come down to the level of women...... no, that is not right!" Every one roared with laughter and Amma acted like she was hitting him on the head and had a great laugh over that. The darshan token numbers went up to 1300 this morning. It was a pretty good crowd even though Burien is not generally a destination point for travellers. Tonight I happened to be up by Amma's chair when a blind woman came with her guide dog. Amma started unwrapping a chocolate kiss for the dog, and Geetha asked the woman if her dog could have chocolate. The woman said no, apparently, as that's what Geetha said, then Amma went ahead and dropped the kiss on the floor and the dog ate it. The dog also had a sign "Ignore: working dog" on its back, but Amma also petted the dog. Amma was saying my darling daughter in several languages. There were some Polish people and Amma was saying "my darling daughter" in Polish. There were other languages also, but I didn't know what they were. Another joke from yesterday's luncheon: A man was hiking and fell off a cliff. As he was hurtling downward, he grabbed onto a small bush and was left dangling out over the abyss. He began to pray fervently for God'd help. Then he heard a voice from heaven, God's voice. It said, "LET GO." The man thought for a moment, then asked, "Is there anyone else up there to ask?" Love, Jyotsna P.S. Sorry I have to be at PLU before noon so am unavailable for pickups at the airport. Also I have no list of airport arrivals for devotees.
