Guest guest
Namaste, All, I think I agree that Amma's message is specific to the one She is speaking to and, in fact, it seems I remember reading in one of the bios that, at one point, some of the swamis were a bit disgusted with devotees who plagued Her with personal/medical problems since those things were, for lack of better wording, not real to begin with. Her response to the swamis was that She must address each devotee according to his/her needs and spiritual states - doing otherwise would be of no benefit and might, actually, delfect the devotee from his/her goal. It is confusing sometimes, tho, isn't it? I thought of this yesterday at the drug store: do we see Amma in everyone as She has directed us to do at times or, as She told those close to Her when dealing with the leper, that contagion is real and to be careful? I was just about to enter our local drugstore when a little old lady came stumbling out of the door on a walker. She was filthy, ragged, bleeding profusely from one arm and was wearing an orange hospital arm band - here that's an indication of a phsych patient!! Needless to say, when this scrap of humanity asked me to take her home, my hair just about stood on end. Lice? TB? A totally whacked out killer? I looked for Amma in this lady's eyes, but if She was there, I think I missed Her completely. Anyway, long story shortened, I helped the lady and her walker into my back seat (the front seat had 2 cartons of diet root beer and about 20 library books so it would have taken too long to clear sincethe lady was beginning to complain of "feeling sick." Hey, at this point ANY blessing looked good!) I took her home, following her rather scatalogical directions and even more intersting conversation and obviously lived to tell about it. And, so far, haven't caught any bizarre diseases..but do wish Mother would shine a little brighter sometimes if She hopes for me to spot Her in some of HEr more outlandish guises! Love you all, at Mother's naughty feet, Dixie
Guest guest
Dixieji! I think I may have caught Divine Mother in beggar garb once or twice myself. Wonder if "crazy bag-lady bhava" is a favorite of Hers? I think it's good to go with your insticts in these situations. Often I have ended up benefiting in some magical way.... hugs, Brianna --- Dixie Thacker <dixielou wrote: > Namaste, All, > > I think I agree that Amma's message is specific to > the one She is speaking to and, in fact, it seems I > remember reading in one of the bios that, at one > point, some of the swamis were a bit disgusted with > devotees who plagued Her with personal/medical > problems since those things were, for lack of better > wording, not real to begin with.
