The story is probably meant for the questioner, and not necessarily the 'reader'.... you may not relate to it all. It is similar to the advice given to monastics (for e.g. 'worldly life is like excreta etc' not necessarily exact words from Amma's books) versus what has been given to the householders ('You can live in the world and yet follow your spiritual life' etc).
