Interview with a Congress Party member of the Indian

Parliament. Was he re-elected in the election a week

ago that ousted the BJP? Vajpayee and some of the BJP

top guns such as L.K. Advani didn't miss too many

opportunities to be seen with Amma (e.g. opening of

AIMS hospital), but I can't imagine Sonia Gandhi going

for Amma's darshan!

Tuesday, 4 May 2004 – Trissur, Kerala

 

Therambil Ramakrishnan is an advocate and member of

the Legislative Assembly for the Congress Party in

Trissur. “I never miss a chance for Her darshan,” he

told us during Amma’s 2004 programme in Trissur. “It

is so rejuvenating—Her words, Her look, Her kiss and

Her inspiring face. It is everything. The body and the

mind become fresh. My pains, my worries and anxieties

disappear immediately.”

 

“When I met Amma 15 years ago, I was running for

politics for the first time. I had some doubts and

troubles, and after Her darshan my confusion was gone.

I am sure She helped me to get elected. Since then, I

have been re-elected three times.”

 

“Amma is a true karma yogi. She is there to serve the

poor. Serving the poor is serving God. For a starving

man, God comes in the form of bread. For a naked man,

He comes in the form of clothes. And for a homeless

man, He comes in the form of a house. Amma gives all

this, and She relieves so much suffering.

 

 

"She is doing what politicians are also doing, but the

difference is that when Amma takes a decision, nobody

will interfere. No bureaucracy or red tape, no vested

interests get in the way. When a politician tries to

do something, other people always get in the way. That

is why Amma is doing miracles by all the good works

that She does. Nobody else could do it in the same way
