Guest guest
Namah Shivaya, There is an older movie, "Defending Your Life," an Albert Brooks film that addresses fear. In the movie, he has died and is being "processed" for the next phase. He is assigned a lawyer (hee hee) who will help him defend his life before a panel to prove he is ready to "move forward" and not be sent back. They must determine if he has conquored his fear - that is the theme of the film: that fear is what causes all negative tendancies. Om BhayA PahAyai Namah (Salutations to the Mother Who dispels all fear) Gabriela --- one_tiny_atom <one_tiny_atom wrote: > Indeed, fear causes a chain reaction, with anger, > jealousy, greed and > (as Faintglowji put it) the 'king cobra' lust > following it. Guest guest
Namaste Although I've been a member here for several months, I haven't posted for quite a long time. I can empathize with the topic; I've been dealing with my own fears and problems (losing job, depression). The clinical definition for depression is anger turned towards oneself, while anger is considered to be a reaction to fear (what a vicious sequence). I also want to thank you, Gabriela, for the wonderful Mantra--it's just what I've been looking for. In reference to Brianna's acronym of fear, there are a few I've heard as well. In dealing with fear, a person can be negative: Fear Everything And Retreat, or positive: Face Everything And Recover. Another, which may be more appropriate to Amma's teachings, is: Forget Ego As Real. I wish the best for everyone and may Amma bestow Her blessings upon all. Guest guest
Namah Shivaya, I've posted this before, but I think it's appropriate again. From the movie Three Kings, regarding fear and courage: "The way it works is, you do the thing you're scared .... of, and you get the courage AFTER you do it, not before you do it." You're all welcome for the quote, it's in the 108 names of Devi in all the Amma books.
