Guest guest
MEDITATE WHILE YOU WORK : A NEW PATH FOR A NEW AGE (14) Swami Ashokananda (continued) You see, there was no sign that this butcher was spiritual; yet he had become an illumined soul. Outwardly he was still killing animals and cutting up meat and selling it; further he was doing the duties which an average householder would do - taking care of his parents and so on. Would you call that spiritual practice ? Most people have not called it so. Even if I were to become very eloquent and impress you with the idea that what he was doing was as good as meditation or worship or any other generally accepted spiritual practice, you might for a time be a little shaken. But the moment you got out of this hall, you would begin to say, 'Oh, yes, but the real practice is meditation. Oh, if I could just have concentration! That's the thing to do. How can I get concentration?' (to be continued)
