Remember "Donna" by Richie Valens? I changed it to

"Amma" a long time ago:

Oh Amma

Oh Amma

I met a guru, and Amma is her name

Since I met her, I've never been the same

And I love my guru

Oh Amma, where can't you be?

Where can't you be?

Namah Shivaya,

Gabriela

Namah Shivaya.

How delightful to discover that there are other siblings out there

rewriting songs for Amma!

(to the tune of "Jesus Loves Me")

Amma love me, this I know.

For Her hugs have told me so.

Little ones to Her belong.

We are weak and She is strong.

Yes, Amma loves me!

Yes, Amma loves me!

Yes, Amma loves me!

Her hugs have told me so!

And you should see what our satsang did with Van Morrison¹s ³These Are the

Days²!

Jai Ma!

>From "The Maple Leaf Forever", a popular Canadian

patriotic song of the late 19th and early 20th century

(it's rarely sung today because the words have become

politically incorrect), here's what I came up with:

In days of yore

from Kerala's shore

Amma the divine mother came

And planted all her love and hugs

on Canada's fair domain...

for the original lyrics and a MIDI version of "The

Maple Leaf Forever", go to

On this page you will also learn why the Red Ensign,

which was good enough to die for in two World Wars,

should still be Canada's flag!
