Guest guest
Gabrielaji and others: Hope you find this inspiring. The best thing would be to continue our spiritual practices (see next post, a donkey's story) as always. Also, here is my "Hang in there, Gabriela" Namah Shivaya ota Excerpted from "From Amma's Heart" by Swami Amritaswarupananda The Final Leap Questioner: Amma, is there a point in a seeker's life when he or she needs to simply wait? Amma: Yes, Afer performing spiritual practices for a long time, which is after putting forth all necessary effort, there will come a point when the sadhak [spiritual seeker] has to stop all sadhana [spiritual practices] and wait patiently for the realization to happen. Questioner: Can the seeker take the leap by him- or herself at that point? Amma: No. In fact, that is a crucial point, when the sadhak needs immense help. Questioner: Will the Guru provide that help? Amma: Yes, only the Satguru's [True Master's] grace can help the sadhak at that point. That is when the sadhak requires absolute patience. Because the sadhak has done whatever he or she could; all self-effort has been put forth. Now, the sadhak is helpless. He or she doesn't know how to take the last step. The seeker may even get confused at this point and turn back to the world, thinking that there is no such state as Self-realization. Only the Satguru's presence and grace will inspire the seeker and help him or her to transcend that state.
Guest guest
Namah Shivaya. OTA, Thank you very much for this post... it (the love and the hope that the conversation provides) has come (to me) at a fairly needed juncture... The only thing I have extrapolated from this is that: The Satguru's help is needed while making all 'intermediate' leaps as well. . BTW, how do I get a copy of the book? Mothersbooks.org never seems to have this book on the website.... Also the book by Swami Ramakrishnanda (Racing along the Razor's edge). If someone can buy them (or any one) for me, I can pay by check and post it to you.... please e-mail me at: manoj_menon at dot com if you can be of help here. Jai Ma! Guest guest
- manoj_menon Ammachi Saturday, April 24, 2004 4:59 PM Re: The Final Leap Namaste, Manoj and All, I can't help you find the book, but can tell you it appears to have been delayed in its printing. I had gift certificates for Amazon.com and pre-ordered it- the tentative arrival date was March 3 and it is still on back order. Like you, I have hunted everywhere for Racing Along the Razor's Edge and finally contacted the ashram in India a couple of months ago and was told the available copies (I think they'd been at San Ramon) had sold out and the new printing was not ready. If anyone's heard anything else, I'd like to know, too. Love from Mother's feet, Dixie Namah Shivaya. Guest guest
Manojji: Let me add to what you said: > The Satguru's help is needed while making all 'intermediate' leaps > as well. . The Satguru's help is also needed for certain atoms (such as this one) that are scratching at the very fringe of spirituality. Wondering if there is really anything beyond or if its time to retreat back into the world. Re: the book "From Amma's Heart", it was gifted to me by a very compassionate member of this group. Something I really cherish. Both books (From Amma's Heart and Razor's edge) got sold out very quickly at MI. There is definitely a huge demand for these books. MA Center reps, are you listening?
