Guest guest
Become a Conch Sydney It was late evening, almost early morning in Sydney, and darshan was still going on. Amma smiled at this person who was from Australia. This devotee considered it his sacred duty to blow the conch, heralding Amma's arrival at the hall at the start of the programs. Amma smiled at him and said, "I was looking for you at Melbourne." To this he answered in a somewhat regretful tone, "Amma, this time I could not come to Melbourne". He was sorry that he had missed the opportunity to welcome Amma with his conch blowing at Melbourne. Amma comforted him by saying that it was more important that he become like a conch. It is only when the inner contents of the conch is removed and cleaned up it can make the expansive omkara sound. Similarly, we should also strive to empty ourselves of the ego and it is then that we can merge with the infinite. What began as a small conversation turned into a inspiring satsang for everyone. It is said that every action of a great Master has meaning and will be beneficial to others. Even their breath benefits the environment and the grass they walk on will be benefited. Amma's life has proven these statements to be true over and over again. Amme Sharanam, ota
